AUDITION INFORMATION for
IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE

 

When: August 27 (Main Roles/Speaking Roles)

August 29* (Ensemble and/or Dance - Required*)

Where: IMAGINX

3000 Wakefield Crossing Dr.

Time: Open slots between 6:30pm – 9:00pm (first come, first served)

AUDITION REQUIREMENTS

1. If you are auditioning for a speaking role, be prepared with a 30 – 60 second monologue of your choice. It is best to bring a monologue that doesn’t include the characters of the specific show. But, it is wise to choose a monologue that is relatable and time sensitive to this particular show.

 

​2. If you are auditioning for a speaking role, be prepared to sing at least 32 bars of music from a piece of your own choosing. This piece should match the genre of the show. Please avoid any songs from IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE. Music will be presented a cappella. Please no worship songs.

*If you are auditioning for ensemble, you will be required to sing a song with a small group.

3. Whether or not you choose to be in a dance ensemble, you will be taught a small portion of a dance number from the show. Please wear clothing that will allow you to be free to move. If you are older, and would like to be exempt, please feel free to speak to the onsite director.

4. Click the link above to the application form and fill out the entire form and submit. This must be done prior to any audition. If you are a current member of PoiemaArtistry, you do not need to re-apply.
 

5. Try to arrive 15 minutes prior to auditioning, as there is information gathered before you perform your prepared piece.

(Performance Dates: December 6-8, 13-15, 2024)​

*IMPORTANT NOTE: If you are auditioning for a main role, you still must audition for the ensemble as well. This will include a group vocal audition and a dance audition on Thursday, August 29.

**If you are not able to attend the audition in person, you may send a video audition to chelsae@poiemaac.com (no later than August 29). Your video submission should include the monologue and music mentioned above, as well as a short jazz (and tap, if applicable) combination so the directors can see your level of dance technique. If this is your first time auditioning for Poiema , please complete the Online Company Audition Form.** If you are a current company member and completed the Online Application PRIOR to December 2022, please fill out with updated information.
